If you love books and meeting Authors … this committee is for you! The Author Day Committee works closely with the school Librarian and is responsible for arranging a published Children’s Author or Illustrator to spend the day at Asa Packer Elementary School. The Author/Illustrator will hold a presentation for the entire student body and visiting smaller groups for autographing books and answering questions. Additional responsibilities include planning transportation and lunch for our special visitor, arranging book orders/purchase through our local book store of the author, student pre-sale book orders and distribution.
Event Held: October 2018/Spring BOGO (Buy One, Get One)
Chair Person: Coordinate with Principal and Librarian the date, Author and the details, coordinates volunteers
Co-Chair Person: Assists the Chair, helps organize the luncheon
Volunteers: Many hands are needed to help make this day run smoothly, pick a time/job OR spend the afternoon with us!
